Terms of Use

NOFRC is a community platform that helps people find food and services, lets donors offer surplus food, lets volunteers pick up and deliver it, and lets organizations manage their information. NOFRC connects people; it does not grow, prepare, store, inspect or sell food.

You must give accurate information and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 18 to donate, volunteer for pickups, represent an organization or use the Community Market.

Tell us right away at our contact page if you think someone else has used your account.

Do not post false, harmful, hateful, harassing, sexual or unlawful content; share someone else's private information; impersonate a person or organization; scrape or overload the service; try to get around security or permissions; or use NOFRC to sell prohibited items.

If you claim or manage an organization, you confirm you are authorized to act for it. NOFRC may ask for proof, and may deny, pause or remove access. Your organization is responsible for the accuracy of its hours, locations and service details.

Donors are responsible for offering only food that is safe to eat and for describing it honestly, including storage needs and pickup timing. Donations made in good faith may be covered by the federal Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act and Louisiana law; NOFRC does not give legal advice about that protection.

Volunteers take part by choice, use their own judgment about safety, follow pickup and handling instructions, and are not NOFRC employees. Only claim pickups you can complete, and release them promptly if plans change. Volunteer hours are recorded as reported and may be verified by NOFRC or partner organizations.

Recipients decide whether to accept food and are responsible for handling and distributing it according to their own practices and applicable law.

Hours, availability, eligibility and stock levels change. Community reports and verification labels show what was reported and when; they are not guarantees. Confirm details with the organization before traveling when you can.

You keep ownership of what you post. You give NOFRC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store and share it as needed to run the service. NOFRC may review, hide or remove content and suspend accounts that break these terms.

NOFRC may remove or disable access to any content, listing, photo, post or account, at any time and without prior notice, if we believe it breaks these terms, is unsafe, inaccurate, infringing or unlawful, or if removal is required by law. Anyone may ask us to take down content that is about them, violates their rights, or is harmful by using Report a problem or our contact page. We review requests promptly and may ask for information to confirm the request. Copyright claims follow our DMCA policy. If your content is removed, you may contact us to ask for a review.

Emails NOFRC sends about your account or activity use honest subject lines that describe what the message is about, and every non-essential email includes a clear unsubscribe link. You can also turn alerts off anytime in Preferences & Alerts. We do not send marketing on behalf of others.

The NOFRC name, logo and site design belong to NOFRC. Resource data from public sources remains subject to the rights of those sources. To report copyright infringement see our DMCA policy.

NOFRC uses outside providers for hosting, sign-in, maps and similar functions. Their own terms apply when you use them. Links to other websites are for convenience only.

We work to keep NOFRC available but may change, pause or discontinue features at any time, and cannot promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. NOFRC does not guarantee the safety, quality or legality of any food, item, listing or user.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, NOFRC and its volunteers and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for harm arising from food, items, pickups or meetings arranged through the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Louisiana law.

You may stop using NOFRC at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end access for violations, safety concerns or legal reasons.

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for significant changes, notify signed-in users. Continuing to use NOFRC after a change means you accept it.
